FooteNotes: What's Happening at E.B. Foote Winery

We will be open on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15th from noon - 6 pm.  We'll have special prices on selected wines.  You can stop by the winery for complimentary wine tasting and snacks, then head one block north for the Classic Car Show on SW 152nd St.

Summer is right around the corner, and that means Breeders Theater will be returning in July with another show for our entertainment.  The new show is called Coriander, a spicy little parable about policy.  It's set in the city/state of Aurora where they are deciding on a bridge, a surface street or a tunnel.  Sound familiar?  It's sure to be funny as well as timely!  Show dates are July 11-12, 16, 18-20, 23-27; Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the door opens at 6:30 pm, Sundays the door opens at 1:30 pm.  Tickets are $20 each and go on sale beginning May 1st at the Barrel Tasting.  If history repeats itself, these tickets will go quickly.  Check your calendar and get your tickets early.  Don't miss this show!

On a personal note... When you have visited the winery, you may have noticed a change in Rich or wondered what was wrong.  Rich has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.  He is at the stage where his speech is garbled and difficult to understand, and he doesn’t always know when someone is talking to him.  However, he still enjoys being at the winery and being involved as much as he can.  He takes medication to slow the progress of the disease, but as time goes on he will have a diminishing role in the winery.  We have the support of family and our Volunteer Vintners so we can face this challenge and move forward.  We intend to enjoy life (and wine!) for a long time!
